ARCS is seeking interested collections professionals to serve on ARCS committees and task forces as we explore more projects and provide new opportunities to benefit our members. ARCS is committed to broadening representation and diversifying the profession. We welcome all members interested in contributing their time and effort to advance our mission. Broadening our committee representation and diversifying perspectives strengthens our ability to effectively serve our membership and our profession. We encourage to apply those who are:
- professionals who steward culturally specific and community based collections
- emerging collections professionals
- professionals outside of the US
- professionals in small galleries and private collections
- professionals in history, science, and children’s museums
- professionals in adjacent fields, e. g. conservation, preparation, archives, and libraries

#ARCSchat December 7
In April of 2020, #ARCSchat sat down with a large panel of shippers to discuss how we would approach shipping our collections during the encroaching pandemic. That chat marked an important milestone for our entire industry, as it was the first of many on the subject by a wide range of institutions.
On December 7, we visited with a similar panel of art shippers from the United States, Asia, Latin America, and Europe to discuss permanent changes to our procedures, laws and regulations resulting from the pandemic, and new best practices (couriers, trackers, PPE, etc), and sustainability issues animated by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
